No need for testing. I'm pretty sure kratimas is just wrong about this. Ranger is one of my least played classes and I've seen choking interupt lots of stuff. Maybe he was facing enemies with glyph of concentration?

So you don't want to shot the "caster" with choking gas if that is who you are trying to interrupt you need to hit an adjacent foe to the "caster" for it to work. Choking Gas does not interrupt the target, it only adds damage to the arrow hitting the target.

To spread it has to start from which ever foe you have targeted and I don't see how it can spread from them and not interrupt them.
I take the Choking Gas/Practice Stance combo with an IAS specifically for the monk boss on the Fire Island missions and it always works.

So, I'm gonna have to go with Hawk on this one.
